Missouri Supplemental Route H: Noel to Pineville

Missouri Supplemental Highway H: Noel to Pineville | Drive America

Join us as we cruise 6 scenic miles along Missouri Supplemental Highway H, connecting the small river town of Noel to the crossroads community of Pineville, deep in the heart of McDonald County. Starting our journey at the intersection with Missouri Route 90 in Noel, we roll north on what locals know as Kings Highway, a rural yet vital connector that traces the quiet curves of the Elk River.

Leaving behind Noel’s limestone bluffs and historic downtown buildings, Highway H gently pulls us northeast through a wooded corridor that’s particularly striking in spring and fall. After a couple of miles, the road bends eastward, hugging the southern bank of the Elk River. Along this stretch, travelers will catch glimpses of the water shimmering through the trees and may even spot locals fishing or kayaking on calm days. Roadside pull-offs are few but worth a quick stop to soak in the river valley’s serene atmosphere.

As we cruise closer to Pineville, the landscape transitions from tight river bends to open clearings and small homesteads typical of this corner of the Missouri Ozarks. Roughly three miles from Noel, Highway H guides us directly toward Interstate 49, an important north-south artery in this region. We wrap up this short yet pleasant drive by merging onto the I-49 southbound ramp, ready to continue deeper into southwest Missouri or swing back toward Arkansas just down the road.
