Drive America’s Highways for 5 miles east along Arkansas Highway 100 (Maumelle Boulevard) from Maumelle to North Little Rock, Arkansas 💎
Our journey begins in the heart of Maumelle at the intersection of Maumelle Boulevard (AR-100) and Odom Boulevard. This stretch of Highway 100 serves as the main commercial corridor through Maumelle, a suburban community just northwest of Little Rock. Heading south on AR-100, we pass a mix of local businesses, shopping centers, and neighborhood turnoffs. This section is flanked by wide sidewalks and landscaping, making it feel more like a well-manicured city street than a typical state highway.
As we near the southern edge of Maumelle, the route begins to curve eastward. Here, we officially leave the city of Maumelle and enter the city limits of North Little Rock. Almost immediately after crossing into Pulaski County’s largest suburb, we encounter Crystal Hill Road—one of the area’s oldest roadways and a connector to several residential neighborhoods and newer developments.
Continuing east on AR-100, we quickly reach the intersection with Counts Massie Road. This road leads to a newly constructed interchange with Interstate 40, giving drivers easy access to regional and interstate travel routes without needing to detour south to I-430. This newer connector has been a game changer for commuters living in Maumelle and western North Little Rock, offering faster access to the northwest suburbs and beyond. A short distance later, we cross Vestal Boulevard, which is the final traffic signal on AR-100 before the freeway.
We wrap up our trip at the major interchange where AR-100 meets Interstate 430. From here, drivers can merge south toward west Little Rock and Benton or north toward Interstate 40 and the Arkansas River crossing. While this segment of AR-100 isn’t necessarily scenic in the traditional sense, it’s an important suburban connector that illustrates the region’s rapid growth over the past few decades. It’s a vital corridor for commuters and a convenient link between the residential centers of Maumelle and the commercial and industrial zones of North Little Rock.
