Rahling Road Northbound in Little Rock

Rahling Road Northbound in Little Rock | Drive America

Driving northbound on Rahling Road offers a quick but varied look at one of West Little Rock’s more recently developed corridors. Starting from the intersection with Chenal Parkway—a major arterial in the area—Rahling Road heads north through an ever-changing mix of commercial and residential developments. This stretch is only about two miles long, but it offers a surprising range of scenery and purpose. On this drive, we’re getting a look at suburban expansion in real time, with everything from retail centers to wooded parkland and upscale neighborhoods tucked just out of view.

As we make our way north from Chenal Parkway, the surroundings quickly transition from business to a more relaxed, suburban vibe. Past the intersection with Kirk Road, Rahling Road narrows into a greener, tree-lined parkway. The landscaping becomes more intentional here—well-maintained medians and setbacks make it feel like a gateway into some of Little Rock’s newer residential pockets. This part of the road gently curves its way around wooded lots, giving it a somewhat scenic parkway feel, especially in spring or fall when the trees show off their color. A highlight of the route is the modern traffic circle at Pebble Beach Road, a roundabout that not only eases congestion but also acts as a functional centerpiece of the neighborhood layout.

Continuing north past the traffic circle, Rahling Road ends at the intersection with Taylor Loop Road, a connector that bridges this suburban pocket to larger routes like Arkansas Highway 10 (Cantrell Road). Our route continues northward on Taylor Loop for another mile. While this part of the journey isn’t officially part of Rahling Road, it functions as a natural extension. Along this segment, we cross the intersection with Hinson Road—another well-known local thoroughfare—before concluding at the signalized intersection with Cantrell Road. From here, travelers can head west toward Pinnacle Mountain or east into downtown Little Rock.

This short but purposeful route is emblematic of how Little Rock has grown in the 21st century. Once a lightly trafficked residential area, Rahling Road now serves as a vital connector in West Little Rock’s commercial and suburban framework. Whether you’re commuting, shopping, or just passing through, this stretch provides a compact look at modern development, complete with scenic touches and efficient road planning.
